I have not been involved in this exchange for several years, and hope I am still doing things in accordance with fandom etiquette! If I am not, please have my sincerest apologies upfront for any grievance this might cause you. Yuletide is supposed to be fun, so I hope that my letter sparks joy in you! In general, please disregard anything that does not spark joy, and write the fic that you are most interested in writing.
I love participating in fanfic exchanges as a way to share thoughts and prompts about our shared canon, so I'm less concerned about my own individual likes/wants, and more interested in seeing what my prompts sparks for the writer. Presumably, you love the canon as much as I do, so I'm interested in reading about what you want to write about, and the ideas you're interested in exploring. However, I am always a sucker for banter, strong dialogue, true-to-canon characterizations, and humor. (As if me requesting 3 cartoon comedies didn't tip you off on that last one.)

BOJACK HORSEMAN

I love the dynamic between these two women and would love to see more of their friendship. While they were initially brought together by Bojack, they develop a meaningful relationship independent of him over the course of the series. By the finale, it's clear that their friendship will outlast Bojack's relationship with either of them. The two characters are very different - we see them butt heads quite often in the show - but there's obvious respect between them. I especially appreciate the moments when Princess Carolyn acts as a mentor figure to Diane, and Diane allows herself to be guided by PC.

John Redcorn. Johhhhhhhhhn Redcorn. Poor guy just gets shafted over in the canon, so my primary motive for requesting this fandom is to finally see John Redcorn get his post-canon happily ever after, in a way that feels true to the original show. Perhaps he and Nancy get back together somehow, years down the line? Or he and Nancy find a way to co-parent successfully, and he's able to develop a meaningful relationship with Joseph?
And Nancy! While Nancy is arguably the least sympathetic character involved in this love triangle, I have a soft spot for this southern belle and would love to see her happy as well. Would love to see something that delves into why she makes the choices that she does. Why does she marry Dale originally? What makes her stay with Dale, even when she's in love with John Redcorn? (She's the breadwinner in the Gribble family, so she's not in it for the money.) What would it take for her to finally leave Dale?
Or, what would happen if Dale finds out about their affair? What if Dale is actually open to nonmonogamy? How would that play out, if Dale is actually the most open-minded of the three of them, and pushes for them to have a closed V-shaped poly relationship? How does their traditional/conservative neighborhood react to that?
If you're not interested in writing John/Nancy or John/Nancy/Dale, I hear you! In that case, what about a fic that highlights John's relationships with Charlene and Kate (from 12x12, "Untitled Blake McCormick Project")? Charlene, Kate, and Drew move in with John at the end of the episode, and are meant to function as his substitute-Nancy and substitute-Joseph happily-ever-after nuclear family. But because they only show up one episode (and are never mentioned again), they feel more like plot devices than anything. So I would love to see anything that develops those characters a little more! What does John like about Charlene? How does his new family integrate into the neighborhood and John's life?
I love the deadpan humor of this show, so I'd love for any fic I receive in this fandom to stay true to the original tone of the canon.
DNW: I read fics to further immerse myself in the world that canon presents, so my DNWs are anything that significantly deviates from the tone/topics presented in the original work. No character-bashing, especially of Nancy or Dale. Dale is not my favorite character, but he is sweet and earnest in his own way. No character deaths, or sad endings, please. Not interested in receiving smut for these two.

Post-Interview Reactions:Their differences are most clearly highlighted by how different their relationships with Bojack are. I would love to see something that compares their responses to Bojack's fate in season 6. Perhaps PC and Diane processing Bojack's coverup of Sarah Lynn's death together? Or them following Bojack's trial and sentencing together? How does each woman initially react? PC and Diane have very different instincts when it comes to protecting Bojack, so how does that come into play in each of their reactions? Do their differences in response impact their relationship? Do their own feelings about Bojack make it difficult to see other's perspectives?
Post-Canon Catch-Up: I'd love to see how they stay in each other's lives post-canon. Diane is in Texas at this point, so they likely don't stay as close as they were when they saw each other regularly. But Princess Carolyn is still Diane's agent, so maybe they stay in touch through that, keeping each other updated on their lives between business meetings? Perhaps the two commiserate over how uncomfortable it is being in healthy romantic relationships for once, or how strange it is being non-traditional mothers? Bonus points if you include Juda, Guy, Sonny, or Sadie (Ruthie's bio-mother).
More Tomfoolery, anyone? If you're into writing wacky hijinks that feel true to the show, would LOVE to see more of PC and Diane's professional shenanigans together while working at VIM. Perhaps a continuation of Sextina Aquafina's pregnancy cover-up? Or the two of them plotting to turn a beloved feminist classic into a feature film while not losing its integrity? Or - while this would not fit into the canon timeline - what about something where PC and Diane collaborate to help restore Gina's professional reputation after what we see in season 6?

What I love most - well, second most, after the puns - about this show is how empathetically it portrays mental illness without excusing it. That's a difficult balance to achieve. I find Bojack deeply compelling as a character (and I relate to him very much), but please do not shy away from Bojack's flaws. His childhood trauma does not excuse his repeated victimization of the women around him.

BOB'S BURGERS
Requested Characters: Gene Belcher, Tina Belcher, Louise Belcher, Bob Belcher
I didn't know how to request for this, but basically, I have a set of prompts for each Belcher sibling, as well as some gen prompts featuring the whole family. While I had some very specific sibling fic-itches I would love my author to scratch, I would be equally happy with any of the prompts you chose to fill! (And if you do the individual sibling prompts, I do not expect you to fit all 4 requested characters in the fic.)
Individual Sibling Prompts:
Gene as trans: I headcanon Gene as trans, and would love an exploration of her social transition as a young adult! I'm not interested in an issues-fic, dysphoria, or anything that delves too deeply into her medical transition (although you're certainly welcome to include details of that in your fic). I'm more interested the social dynamics around Gene's transition, and how Gene's interactions with other characters might change as Gene transitions. I'd love to see Gene's exploration of her femininity as a source of joy, abundance, and expansion in her life, rather than anything sad or depressing. Extra points for Gene processing her gender with her sisters, and extra bonus points if you include Marshmallow!
Tina & Zeke: I love Zeke so much, and would love any fic of Zeke & Tina interacting. Please give me more of this brash, self-assured teen boy who wears his heart on his sleeves. He represents the bully archetype, yet is actually the most genuine and sweet of everyone in Tina's peer group, minus Tina herself. What gets them to start hanging out 1-on-1? Maybe Tina plans a major outing for her crew, but Zeke is the only one who shows up? Or what if Zeke got a job at Bob's Burgers? What would it be like to integrate Zeke into the family dynamics? I ship Tina/Zeke, but would be just as happy with a fic where Tina develops a newfound appreciation of Zeke as a person/friend.
Louise & Logan: I really enjoy their platonic dynamic and I'd love to see more of the uneasy truce dynamic they achieve during "Mother Daughter Laser Razor." Maybe more scenarios where Louise & Logan get dragged as unwilling participants to their mothers' rivalry? Really, any situation where they're thrown together and forced to cooperate despite their antagonism would be A+ by me. I do ship them as adults, so if you wanted to write an enemies-to-lovers fic when they're in their 20s/30s, I would be more than happy for that!
No gender, just LOTS of money: Or maybe they do becxome Fishoeder rich! What if Calvin Fishoeder wills part of his fortune to the Belchers? How does Felix react to that? How would their lives change if they had fuck-you money? How does Bob make sure his family stays grounded in reality despite all that?
The Belchers go camping: I love camping, and I love reading about my favorite characters engaging in my favorite activities, so you can't really go wrong mixing the two. Anything that involves Bob exposing his unwilling children into nature will have me cackling in delight. Or maybe Bob has an ally in Tina, who needs her backpacking Thundergirl badge? Please just give me Belcher family adventures in the outdoors!
Other: Honestly, I love the world of Bob's Burgers, so I'd probably be happy with anything you wrote for this show, even if you wrote something for characters that didn't get nominated. Anything that rings true to the weird humor and vibe of the series would make my heart sing.

If you write the trans Gene prompt, I'd like to avoid this turning into an issues-fic, so no trans 101-type explanation or soapboxing of trans issues/trans politics. The Bob's Burgers universe is depicted as very accepting of LGBTQ+ people and alternative lifestyles, so no overt transphobia or violence. No neopronouns, please! No public health concerns (eg, COVID, STDs), incest, character deaths, or sad endings, please. Not interested in receiving smut for this prompt.

No gender, no romance, just money: Financial instability in TV shows stress me out (it's just too true to life for my escapism needs, okay?), so I'd love to read a fantasy fulfillment fic where the Belchers achieve financial stability. Not Fishoeder rich, but just enough that they can afford to send more than one child to college. (Cause uh, none of them are gonna be winning scholarships anytime soon.) How does that stability impact their life and what can they now do because of it? How does Bob's anxiety respond to that stability?
